We are very pleased that we have been awarded the
'Sainsbury's School Games'
Bronze award 2016.
Sport at Sacred Heart is important as it fulfils many roles from being a fun way to enjoy a healthy lifestyle to learning to work as a team or individually. Whilst learning to compete is vital, it is also essential to learn good sportsmanship whatever the result.
Every pupil, from Reception to year 6, is expected to take part in our sports programme through a variety of Sports and PE.
All of the pupils have the opportunity to go swimming. Each class has a weekly lesson - ten lessons per term. They are taught by fully qualified swimming instructors at the Hambleton Leisure Centre, Northallerton.
As well as timetabled sport there are also opportunities to take part in sporting activities through our extra curricular activities programme and inter-sports programme with local schools.
